At a European Film Festival, two directors are put together to make a movie. They decide to make a movie consisting of small visual letters. Small films will be sent to each other and eventually become a documentary film that will cover the topic of travel, origin, mothers and homeland. But work is slow and communication fails. After a while, it stops. Other projects and a challenging theme make it difficult to complete the movie. Dear Sherman is a film about collaboration but also about the process of making a movie.
