“If on a winters night a traveller to Serbia” shows several attempts on how to make a documentary. It consists of old recordings, interviews, accidental and arranged situations. The main theme and starting point is post - conflict in the former Yugoslavia. The title of the film is taken from the book If on a winters night a traveller where the openings are the most important. None of the ideas in the film were ever completed, the most important aspect of the film was in the end to show some of the myths surrounding the Balkans, and to face the problems a journalist hungry for sensations or a western artist with a wish for something new might encounter.
