In the film, we meet 9C at Skullerud ungdomsskole in Oslo. For three months, the director followed the history lessons in World War II. We observe them closely as they hear of the Nazis military advance, Quisling, the Holocaust and the resistance movement. An enthusiastic teacher uses films, maps and objects to engage the students which creates interesting discussions and scenes. What we talk about when we talk about the war gives us a look at the great narrative about the war and the occupation of Norway which has relevance through the recent discussions about what happened and what stories have been told and by whom.
